Jay Johnson has been around. He now lives with
his better half, Laura D., and a bird and a cat in the suburban
paradise of Huntington, Long Island.
Jay is the owner
of 423-TREE,
in business since 1980. He did all of the tree climbing for 17
years, and still climbs most days. He is an arborist
certified by the International Society of Arboriculture, a member
of the Long Island Arborists, and the Better Business
Bureau.
He has been a model, actor, and stand-up
comedian, and is licensed to drive tractor trailers. He has
taught classes in Zen thought, and is a National Guild Certified
Hypnotist.
Jay/John Kicker's performances are being
captured by documentary film maker Mary Scott of of MakeBelievetv.com. The
intention is "BREAK TIME, THE MOVIE".
He is also developing
projects with Ron Wood and Sharon Cohen of Ron Wood Public Relations
Limited.
 Jay's poem,
"The Wanting" (included in BREAK TIME) won first
prize in the Performance
Poet's Association 2005 yearly
contest. It also was a prize winner inthe Mid-Island Y JCC's
2004 contest.

In June of 2005, Jay produced a show
based on the emergence of John Kicker
at the Author's Playhouse in Bayshore. His band, "THE GRIN REAPER'S" did the backup
honors for "Season of the Witch" and the original, "You Look So
Good in Handcuffs". In August, he was carried to the stage
by a dozen people for the Northport Arts Coalition's summer poetry series. Last year for the same
series, he conducted 3 men with chainsaw engines in the wildly
inventive "Song of the Chainsaws". (Clips will be available

Jay
Johnson, has performed for the
Northport Arts Council Summer Festival, The Back Fence of Bleeker
Street in Manhatten, The Pieces Cafe in Babylon, Barnes and
Noble Books, The Garden City Bird Sanctuary, Caffe Portofino of
Northport, the East Northport Library, Huntington Township
Theater Group, Huntington Village Theater Company, and The Nassau
County Players. He created an adult and a children’s show for Morril
Theater in Nesconset. He was selected to write
the poem dedicating the Mobile at
Huntington Town
Hall by artist Mark Kuhn. He has
performed at Long Island Poetry Collective’s shows at The Barn, the
Whitman House’s Body Electric, and was a regular on the poetry slam
circuit on Long Island. As an actor, Mr. Johnson
traveled professionally with Murder Mystery Incorporated, performed
in children’s theater, TV commercials, and a Troma Film, “WAR”. In
the early 80’s, he was stand-up comic, “Jay Jones”. Jay is on the
board of directors of TeenSpeak, director Faith Lieberman, and
member of The Huntington Arts Council, The Northport Arts Coaliton
and The Township Theater Group as well as the Long Island Arborists
Association, The Better Business Bureau, Fitness Through
Boxing and the National Guild of Hypnotists.
